Exploring the Seasonal Marshlands of the Park ~ Saturday, January 6, Noon - 3pm
During the wet season a large part of the Park’s open space turns to marsh and wetlands. Come out to learn and explore this changing environment. See what different plant and pond life exists in the area. Look for the State Parks truck along the bike path between the Vallejo Home driveway and the ballfields. Suggested: Rain boots or water-proof shoes. This free program runs continuously between noon and 3pm. No reservation required.
CBC4Kids Winter/Christmas Bird Count ~ Saturday, January 13, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Join us in celebrating and estimating the winter birds of the park. Sonoma Birding is sponsoring and leading this fun and educational event. An orientation and brief training are held at the Sonoma Barracks video room and courtyard area along with a surprise birding craft. Campfire Program ~ Saturday, January 20, 4:30pm-5:30pm
Gather ‘round the warm campfire in the historic Sonoma Barracks Courtyard. Join in the fun with a short talk, songs and, of course, a marshmallow roast! All ages, free of charge, steady rain cancels.
