The following outreach materials were created because public awareness is the first line of defense, as human activities, particularly boating and water recreation, are one of the primary ways invasive mussels are transported between waterbodies. Prevention of the spread of invasive mussels is far more effective and less costly than managing an infestation after it occurs. The free outreach materials below are provided as a resource for waterbody managers/owners.
