The Sacramento River at Rio Vista is forecast to exceed the monitor stage of 7.4 ft and rise to 7.5 ft for December 18-19, 2014. All High Water Notification calls have been made. Detailed water level information can be found here.

Notice of Temporarily Shutting Down the Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Gates and Boat Lock
The California Department of Water Resources advises that it will be temporarily shutting down the Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Gates and Boat Lock, located 2.2 nautical miles from the easterly end of Montezuma Slough at coordinates, 38°05'36"N 121°53'07"W, from December 15, 2014 through December 19, 2014. As such, boat lock operation will be suspended and vessel passage at Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Structure will be completely closed during this period. Signs and lights will be posted to warn vessels to avoid the boat lock.

Notice of Flashboards Removal/Boat Lock Suspension at Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Gates
The California Department of Water Resources advises that it will remove the flashboards and suspend boat lock operations at the Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Gates, located 2.2 nautical miles from the easterly end of Montezuma Slough at coordinates, 38°05’36”N 121°53’07”W, on June 3, 2014.
After June 3rd mariners are advised to use the Maintenance Channel on the east side of the slough. The boat lock will be closed to boat traffic. Signs and lights will be posted to warn vessels to avoid the boat lock.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) was designated as the lead agency to manage South American spongeplant by California Assembly Bill 1540 (Buchanan, Chapter 188, Statutes of 2012). The new Spongeplant Control Program will be operated in parallel with the existing Water Hyacinth Control Program (WHCP) and Egeria densa Control Program (EDCP). Spongeplant is a floating, non-native, invasive aquatic weed with the potential to negatively impact navigation, agricultural pumping and the Delta ecosystem.
The meeting on February 6th will provide the public with an opportunity to provide input into the environmental review process. For project description and more information on the program or meeting, please contact :
