NOTICE OF FLASHBOARDS INSTALLATION/BOAT LOCK CONTROL AT SUISUN MARSH SALINITY CONTROL STRUCTURE
The California Department of Water Resources advises that it will install the flashboards across the Maintenance Channel and begin Boat Lock operations at the Suisun Marsh Salinity Control Structure, located 2.2 nautical miles from the easterly end of Montezuma Slough at coordinates, 38°05’36”N 121°53’07”W on August 23, 2021.
Beginning that day until May 31, 2022, Mariners are advised to use the boat lock on the west side of the slough. The boat lock will be open to boat traffic between the hours of 0700 hours and 1700 hours, unless informed otherwise. Signs and lights will be posted to warn vessels to avoid the use of the maintenance channel on the east side of the facility.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY EMERGENCY DROUGHT BARRIER IN DELTA
To help slow the movement of saltwater into the central Delta and prevent contamination of water supplies in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), in consultation with federal and state water and wildlife agencies, is moving to install an emergency, temporary rock barrier across a Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta channel. In-water work will begin June 3, 2021. The temporary barrier will be removed by November 30, 2021.

After May 8th, mariners are advised to use the Maintenance Channel on the east side of the slough. The boat lock will be closed to boat traffic. Signs and lights will be posted to warn vessels to avoid the boat lock.
